How to get from Bangkok to Pattaya

You can travel from Bangkok to Pattaya by Bus, Minivan, Taxi or Train. Buses travel frequently from all major bus terminals in Bangkok and the Airport. There is one daily train on weekdays and minivans run from Victory Monument almost every 30 minutes.


Public Buses from Bangkok to Pattaya


Duration: 2,5-3 hours

Price: 113-124 baht


If you want to travel to Pattaya by bus you can take a public bus at the Eastern Bus Station (Ekkamai). Easily accessible as it is next to the Ekkamai BTS station. There are also buses going from the Northern Bus Terminal and the Southern Bus Terminal.


Bus bangkok to Pattaya


There is a direct bus to Pattaya that uses the highway and takes about 2,5 hours, the costs for this bus are 113 baht. There is also a bus that makes stops under way, that one takes about 3,30 hours and costs 91 baht. The first bus leaves at 05:00 and the last at 23:00.


There is a direct bus from the Suvarnabhumi International Airport to Pattaya. The ticket for this bus is 124 baht. You need to go to the Suvarnabhumi Bus Terminal at the airport. (November 2012)


Minivan from Bangkok to Pattaya


From Victory Monument square in Bangkok you can take a minivan to Pattaya. It is the quickest form of public transport to Pattaya from Bangkok.


The price for a ticket is 97 baht. The first one departs at 06:00 and the last one at 20:00. There is a van departing every 20 minutes. The bus stop is right next to the Victory Monument BTS exit in front of Enconcept E-Academy.


In Pattaya there are 4 stops where you can choose from.  Ba-Li-Hi pier, The Avenue (Major Cineplex), South Pattaya and near Walking street.

Taxi from Bangkok to Pattaya


Duration: 1,5 hours 

Price: 1600 baht


It is possible to get a Taxi that can bring you from your hotel in bangkok to any destination in Pattaya. The price for a taxi will probably be around 1600 baht. Train from Bangkok to Pattaya


Duration: 3 hours and 40 minutes

Price: 31 or 72 baht

On weekdays you can go by train from Bangkok to Pattaya. There is one daily train that leaves from Hua Lampong station in Bangkok at 06:55. The trip takes about three hours and forty minutes. There are two classes available, a ticket for second class is 72 baht, for third class 31 baht.
