How to get from Phuket to Bangkok

There are basically two ways to travel from Phuket to Bangkok. By plane or by bus; Phuket has no train station. You can travel by bus from Phuket to Surat Thani and take a train from there.

Traveling by Bus from Phuket to Bangkok

Duration: 11-13 hours

Price: 680-1058 baht

There are several buses a day from the New Phuket Bus Terminal to Bangkok. The first buses start around 07:00 in the morning and the last ones around 18:30. The trip to Bangkok can take anywhere between 11 and 13 hours; depending the traffic.

A first class bus to Bangkok should cost around 680 baht and a VIP bus with 24 seats will cost 1058 baht. Most buses go to the Southern Bus Terminal, but you can also find buses that go to the Northern Mo Chit terminal. Make sure you get the correct bus if you need to connect in Bangkok.
