Traveling from Bangkok to Poipet
Poipet is the city just across the border from Aranyaprathet in Thailand. It is the main border town you have to cross if you are traveling from Bangkok to Siem Reap. There is not much to do in Poipet, there is a casino which is popular as gambling is illegal in Thailand.

Train from bangkok to Poipet
Duration: 5 hours and 40 minutes
Price: 48 baht (only 3th class available)
There are trains leaving for Aranyaprathet from Hua Lampong train station in Bangkok. One at 05:55 and you will be at Aranyaprathet at 11:35, the second train leaves at 13:05 and you will be at Aranyaprathet at 17:35. From there you still need to arrange transport to the border. There are always taxies waiting for the train to arrive.

Bus from Bangkok to Poipet
Duration: between 4 and 5 hours
Price: 1st class 207 baht 2nd class 160 baht, from Ekkamai 200 baht
There are busses leaving from the Northern bus terminal to Aranyaprathet. There are 1st and 2nd class tickets and buses are leaving approximately every half hour. The last bus leaves at around 18:00.
You can also take a bus from the Eastern bus terminal (Ekkamai). The costs is 200 baht per person. There are 5 buses a day and the trip takes about 4 hours. The bus times are : 06:15, 08:30, 10:30, 12:30 and 16:30.(January 2012)
There are two buses a day that go from Suvernabhumi airport to Aranyaprathet they depart at 07:15 and 09:45 and cost 187 baht.
Minivan from Bangkok to Poipet
Duration: 4 hours
Price: approximately 200 baht
You can take a minivan from Victory monument in Bangkok. These vans bring you straight to the border. The minivan is a bit faster than the bus and train and still has the same price range. The minivans depart every 30 to 45 minutes from 05:30 until 18:30 from Victory Monument. You can buy the ticket directly at the station. In case you have big luggage you have to pay a little extra.
If you are traveling in a group up to 14 people; a private Minivan that can pick you up from your hotel in Bangkok can be arranged. The price for a van is 2900 baht (regardless how many people). Taxi from Bangkok to Poipet

Price: 2100 baht (up to 3 pp) 2600 baht (up to 5 pp)
If you have people to share the trip with it might be a good idea to take a taxi. A taxi to Aranyaprathet will cost you about 2100 baht. The regular taxi can hold up to 3 people. We can also arrange a bigger taxi that can hold up to 5 people, the price for the bigger taxi is 2600 baht.
