How to get from Bangkok to Koh Chang
You can travel from Bangkok to Koh Chang Island by bus, minivan or by plane. Buses leave from the Eastern Bus Terminal at Ekkamai and go to either the ferry pier at Laem Ngop to the Island or the Trat Bus Terminal from where you need to arrange transport to the Island.
Minivans can be arranged at Victory Monument. The minivans will go straight to the ferry pier. There are daily flights between Suvarnabhumi Airport and Trat.
Bus from Bangkok to Koh Chang
Duration: approximately 7 hours
Price: 300 baht
Departure times: 07:45and 09:45
From the Ekkamai Eastern Bus Terminal in Bangkok you can take the bus directly to the ferry pier to Koh Chang. These buses leave at 07:45 and 09:45. There are also buses that leave every hour to Trat from 06:00 buses go until 18:00, but to catch the ferry you should the bus at 12:00 or earlier.
The bus to Trat with Cherd Chai Tour sometimes makes a stop along the highway, where a pick up truck can bring you to the ferry pier for 50 baht. please tell the driver where you want to go! This does not always work, so you can not count on it.

There are also buses from the Suvarnabhumi Bus Terminal at the airport in Bangkok directly to Laem Ngop pier. The bus will drop you at the pier and from there you can take the ferry to Koh Chang.
Minivan from Bangkok to Koh Chang
Duration: 5 hours
Price: 300 baht
There are hourly minibuses traveling from Victory Monument in Bangkok to Laem Ngop Pier from where you can take the ferry to Koh Chang.
The trip from Bangkok to the pier is normally around 5 hours depending on traffic, the tickets are 300 baht per person.
Flying from Bangkok to Koh Chang
Duration: 40 minutes
Koh Chang does not have an airport, but you can fly from Bangkok to Trat on the mainland. From Trat you can arrange transport to the pier where you can take a ferry to the island.
A minibus shutle from the airport to your hotel can be booked on arrival at the airport. Bangkok Airways offers flights from Bangkok to Trat.

Ferry from the mainland to Koh Chang
Duration: aprox 30 minutes
Price: one way 80 baht return 140 baht
Time table: every 45 minutes between 06:30 and 19:00
The price for a single ticket is 80 baht, but it is also possible to buy a return ticket for 140 baht. The ferry at the Ao Tammarot Pier takes 30 minutes and goes every 45 minutes between 06:30 till 19:00.
The ferry from Centerpoint takes about 45 minutes, they leave every hour; the first one leaves at 06:00 and the last one at 19:00
