The city of New York is packed with famous hotels such as the Plaza Hotel and the Waldorf Astoria which featured in many Hollywood blockbusters. The Four Seasons Hotel near Central park with its 52 stories is the tallest hotel in New York.
Most hotels are located in Manhattan, but there are also good alternatives across the river in Queens and New Jersey where prices are considerably lower.

New York is one of the most expensive cities in the world if you are looking for a place to sleep. Expect to pay around 100 to 200 dollar for a budget room with a shared bathroom. A mid range hotel will probably cost you between 200 and 300 dollar.
If you are looking for a cheaper option you might try and stay in one of the many New York Hostels where you can find lodging for as little as 30 dollars.
