Mexico City
Zocalo
Zocalo is the area around the Plaza de la Constitution. The Plaza itself is one of the biggest squares in the world. At the centre of the square flies the giant Mexican flag. The most prominent buildings on the square are the Palacio National and the Cathedral. At one corner you will find the sunken remains of the Templo Major Aztec temple complex.
The Alameda central
The Alameda is a nice park in the centre of Mexico City. The park has many statues and walkways and as centre piece the Hemiciclo a Juarez. There are several museums to be found in the area. The palacio de Bellas artes is arguably the most beautiful building in the old city centre.

Paseo de la Reforma
The Paseo de la Reforma is a passage way that connects the centre of Mexico City with el Bosque de Chapultepec. It is about 3,5 kilometers long and houses many hotels and office blocks. There are many traffic circles on the paseo with important monuments.
Bosque de Chapultepec
The Bosque de Chapultepec is one of the favorite weekend retreats for the citizens of Mexico City. Especially during the weekend there is plenty to do in the park. There is a Zoo and lake where you can rent a boat. There are some important museums in the park such as the Museo National de Antropologia.
San Angel
At the heart of San Angel you will find the Plaza San Jacinto, a nice square with many restaurants and bars. The area of San Angel has many religious buildings as it was the spot where the Dominican and Carmelite friars first settled when the Spanish came to Mexico City.
Coyoacan
Coyoacan is the place where Hernan Cortez first settled and it used to be far outside the original city. Here you can find the original colonial architecture. Famous people such as Frida Kahlo, Diego Rivera and Leon Trotski used to live in Coyoacan.
Teotihuacan
About 40 kilometers Northeast of Mexico City you will find the old pre Colombian city of Teotihuacan. It is one of the great cities of the ancient worlds.
