Mexico City is the capital of the country and famous for the remains of the Aztec city of Teotihuacan with its pyramids of the Sun and of the Moon. Other sights that need to be seen are the National Palace and the Metropolitan Cathedral which is the biggest in the Western Hemisphere.

The Yucatan peninsula is home to some amazing old Maya sights and some of the most modern beach resorts. It is a perfect place to combine culture and history with pure beach fun. You cannot miss the old Maya city of Chichen Itza one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. But also other sites like Tulum and Coba should not be missed. For sun lovers there are the beach of famous Cancun and the island of Cozumel.
Acapulco is one of Mexico’s most famous beach resorts on the Western coast of the country. The city became famous in the 1950’s as a getaway for famous Hollywood stars. The stars may not visit the beach that often anymore it is still one of the places to be seen in Mexico.

Veracruz is Mexico’s most important port and it is famous for its Carnival. The city is know for being a melting pot of cultures. There is also a nice beach
Guadalajara the second largest city in Mexico is home to the Mariachi, tequila and the Mexican cowboy. The city has a nice mix of old European style buildings with more modern architecture.
In Monterrey you can find a few important museums such as the Museum of Mexican History and the Monterrey Museum of Contemporary Art.
