There are not a lot of budget options in Rome. The cheapest lodging can probably be found around the Termini Station. One of the most famous hotels in Rome is the Westin Excelsior where parts of the movie La Dolce Vita where shot.

You can find mid range and upscale hotels all over the city. It is best to book a hotel in advance, expect to pay an inflated price if you just walk in to a hotel.
