North West France
Brittany and Normandy are coastal regions filled with cultural sites. Mont St Michel is Frances most famous historical site outside of Paris. The beaches at Normandy where the Allied troops started the liberation of Northern Europe are very impressive for those who like recent history.

Paris
Paris is a city that should not be missed if you are traveling in France. It is full with world-famous landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower, the Notre Dame and the Louvre. Southwest of Paris lies Versailles the palace of the sun king Louis XIV. But Paris is not only history and culture. If you are a fan of theme parks you must visit Disneyland Paris.
Loire – Burgundy
If you like history and especially castles we recommend you to rent a car and drive the Loire river between Orleans to Nantes. You will find dozens of castles (Châteaux) build by the rich and royalties that used the region for hunting and as an escape from crowded Paris from the sixteenth century onwards.

The Burgundy region east of the Loire is one of Frances main wine regions. This area is rich of history and a must go for anglers as it has loads of lakes and streams.
North east France
The North Eastern part of France is not very well known as a touristic destination, but is does have plenty of nice little towns with historical cathedrals, like the one in Reims which is also the heart of the famous Champagne region.
Atlantic France
The Atlantic coast of France is a popular touristic region. The ports of La Rochelle and Rochefort are popular with yachtsmen. South of the river mouth of the Gironde around Bordeaux you find long sandy beaches stretching all the way to Bayonne and the Spanish border. West of Bordeaux lies the Dordogne region, famous for its gastronomic delights. Northwest of Bordeaux lies the Saintonge, home of Cognac and Pineau.
Upland France
The main city in the western Massif Central is Lyon. In the East of the region the city of Grenoble, also known as the capital of the Alps. In the Alps itself you will find high class ski resorts like St Moritz and Zermatt.
Southern France
The Southern coast of France, la Côte d'Azur is very popular by sun worshippers. It is famous for luxury resorts like St Tropez, Cannes and Nice. But it is not only sun and beach in the South. For those who like history there are cities like Arles where you can find an old Roman arena and where van Gogh painted some of his most famous paintings. Also the port of Marseille Frances third city has a lot to offer.
