Ha Long Bay
Ha Long Bay is an amazing area of natural beauty in the North Western part of Vietnam. The core area of the bay has 775 Islands which are mostly made out of limestone. Since 1994 Ha Long Bay is listed as a UNESCO world heritage site and in 2012 the New 7 Wonders Foundation included Ha Long Bay as one of the new seven natural wonders of the world.

Inside Ha Long Bay you will find many caves and islands with viewpoints. Probably one of the most popular islands to visit in Ha long Bay is Titop Island from where you have an amazing view of the surrounding Islands in the bay. One of the most popular and largest caves in Ha long Bay is the Sung Sot Cave.

A nice way to explore Ha Long Bay is by cruise, there are many day trips that visit Ha Long Bay, but to really get a feeling of the beauty of the bay it might be a nice idea to spend a night or two on board of a two day or three day cruise. Many tour companies such as Alova Cruises offer trips from Hanoi to Ha Long Bay that include overnight stay in the bay.
Ha Long City is the main entry point to Ha Long Bay. There are many hotels here that mainly cater Vietnamese tourists.
