Koh Muk Emerald Cave

 

The Emerald Cave or Morakot Cave is one of the most impressive natural wonders of Thailand that should not be missed. The cave is situated on Koh Muk Island in the Trang province and can only be reached by long Tail Boat.

The Cave can only be entered from the sea. You need to swim through an 80 meters long tunnel to reach the inner lake/beach. When you pass through the cave you will find a little lake with beach that is connected with the sea through the tunnel.

Inside it looks like you are in a Volcano, with steep rock formations around you. The cave can not be reached over land.  The Emerald Cave was used by pirates to store their valuables before they removed it to other storage places.

The Cave is close to Hat Farang Beach on Koh Muk. It can be considered it one of the top natural sights in Thailand. During high season the cave can get busy as many tours from neighboring Islands visit the Cave. In low season you can enjoy visiting the cave alone.
