Phuket

The biggest attraction on Phuket are the beaches on the west coast. Patong is the busiest and most popular beach, it is one of the major party places in Asia. Other less busy beaches but also popular beaches are Karon, Kata and Kamala. Don't forget to go to the view point at Promthep Cape on the Southern tip of the island.

Phuket City

Phuket City is the largest city in Phuket. If you want to get away from the beaches a bit and want to go to a Thai market Phuket city is a nice option. From the pier at Phuket city you can take a boat to Koh Phi Phi

Karon and Kata beach

Karon and Kata beach are south of Patong. These beaches are a lot less crowded and less commercial. This is why these beaches are more attractive for families who visit Phuket. Betweeen Karon and Kata beach you will find a great snorkeling site.

Kamala, Surin and Bang Tao beach

These three beaches North of Patong are also a lot less crowded and developed. Therefore these beaches are more suitable for families and people who want to relax. Close to Kamala Beach you will find the cultural theme park FantaSea.

Similan islands

To the north west of Phuket you find the Similan islands. It is a national park that is famous for its dive sites. There are many tours to be arranged to these islands from Phuket.

Phang Nga Bay

Phang Nga Bay is a marine national park northeast of Phuket. It is a shallow bay with 42 islands made out of limestone. The most famous island in the bay is the James Bond island that has been used in the movie “The man with the golden gun”. The bay is part of many daytrips that you can organize in Phuket.
