Most visitors to Pattaya come directly from Bangkok, either by bus from Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport or from any of the major bus terminals in the Thai capital. It is also possible to get a minivan at Victory Monument in Bangkok or hire a private taxi. There is also a train going from Bangkok to Pattaya. The U-Taphao Airport south nof Pattaya offers daily flights to Koh Samui and Phuket.
Arriving in Pattaya by train
Pattaya has two train stations, both just east of Sukhumvit Road. Near Central Pattaya Road you will find the Pattaya Train Station which is the main stop.

Pattaya Tai Train Station is a small unmanned station about 3 km south from the main station. Pattaya Tai station is closer to Jomtien Beach. The Pattaya Tai halt has no ticket office, so passengers are permitted to board here without tickets and then pay on the train.
A third-class train connects Pattaya with the Hua Lampong station in Bangkok. A journey that departs Bangkok weekday mornings around 7am and costs less than 40 baht for the three hour trip. The journey takes about 3.30 hours.
Arriving in Pattaya with the bus
If you take a bus from Bangkok to Pattaya you will arrive at the Pattaya Bus Terminal at North Pattaya road. There are buses straight from Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok to Pattaya. If you are traveling from Bangkok city you can take a bus at the Ekkamai Eastern Bus Terminal, The Northern Bus Terminal or the Southern Bus Terminal in Bangkok. Buses go almost everey 30 minutes.
From Bangkok’s Mo Chit Northern Bus Terminal and the Sai Tai Mai Southern Bus Terminal (Sai Tai Mai), buses leave less frequently throughout the day, but at similar cost and travel time as those from Ekkamai.
If your final destination is Jomtien Beach it may be preferable to get a 2nd class bus rather than the 1st class busses mentioned above, as many 2nd class busses continue on to Jomtien thus saving you the time and hassle of arranging a transfer from North Pattaya Road bus station. The bus station for the 2nd class buses is on South Pattaya Road.
If you arrive in Pattaya from Chiang Mai, Rayong and other destinations in Thailand you will probably arrive at the Nakhon Chai Air bus station on Sukhumvit Road.
Arriving in Pattaya by Taxi
The official fare for a taxi between Bangkok and Pattaya is 1500 baht plus expressway fees, but it is possible to negotiate the ride for as little as 1300 baht. Touts at Suvarnabhumi Airport offer taxi and limousine services from Bangkok to Pattaya for variable rates. You are likely to get a better deal if you know what the going rates are
Arriving in Pattaya by minivan
Minivan run between Pattaya and Bangkok's hotels and from Khao San Road, offering the convenience of a door-to-door service for around 400 baht/person. Minivans to Pattaya from Victory Monument are a lot cheaper.
(Minibuses to Bangkok on South Pattaya Road)
The price for a ticket is around 100 baht. The first one departs at 06:00 and the last one at 20:00. There is a van departing every 20 minutes. The bus stop is right next to the Victory Monument BTS exit in front of Enconcept E-Academy.
In Pattaya there are 4 stops where you can choose from. Ba-Li-Hi pier, The Avenue (Major Cineplex), South Pattaya and near Walking street.
Arriving in Pattaya with the plane
33 kilometers south of Pattaya you will find the U Taphao International Airport. There are minivans and taxi available when you arrive at this airport.
From U Taphao aiport you can take daily flights to Koh Samui and Phuket with Bangkok Air. Since September 2013 Legacy Air offers direct flights to Siem Reap, home of the temples of Angkor in Cambodia.
