Koh Samui Transport
A 51 kilometre coastal ring road encircles the entire island of Koh Samui. This road leads to numerous lovely beaches and bays which you can get to by foot, motorcycle, bus, or car.
It also connects to the main beaches and to the town centers, airport and ferry, so getting around is relatively easy.
Songthaew
The cheapest form of public transport on the island is the songthaew, a small pick-up truck with benches for passengers along the side in a covered truck.

(Songthaew pick up truck taxies on Koh Samui)
Fares are a flat 60 baht and travel from Chaweng to Lamai and Chaweng to Nathon.
Taxi
Finding taxis on the main road or near the resort areas of Chaweng and Lamai is easy. Yellow meter taxis are available but make sure you agree on the price before the trip.
Motorcycle
A more flexible way to get around the island is renting motorcycle and costs approximately 200 baht / day. Beware, as the roads can be quite rough in some parts on Koh Samui.
