Koh Phangan Beaches
The beaches on the Northern eastern part of Koh Phangan are more quite then on the Western side. The most busy beaches on the island can be found on the Southern tip where the Fullmoon Party is held every month.
Around the island you will find the following beaches, starting from the North Western tip.
Ao Chalok Lam and Hat Khom
Chalok Lam or Chaloklum is a fisherman village on the Northern coast of Koh Phangan. Malibu beach is broad and has nice white sand. From Chalok Lam you can take a water taxi to Hat Khom. There is also a dirt road leading to Hat Khom.

Ao Mae Hat and Koh Ma
Ao Mae Hat is a long white sandy beach on the North West of Koh Phangan. On the Northern tip of the beach you will find the little island of Koh Ma. A sandbar connects Koh Ma with Mae Head beach and you can walk to the island through the water.
Hat Salad
Hat Salad has a white sandy beach in between rocks and coral reefs, making it a good place for scuba diving.
Hat Yao
Hat Yao has a long and broad white sandy beach. This makes it one of the most popular beaches on the island. There is plenty to do as the beach is ideal for swimming and water sports.

Hat Son or Secret Beach
Hat Son or Secret Beach is a little beach tucked away between Hat Yao and Hat Chaopao. There are just four bungalows on this beach. An ideal stop when you tour the Island on a motorbike.
Hat Chaophao
Hat Chaopao is rounded beach with several bungalow complexes. Many of the bungalows on this beach have a great view of the sunset.
Ao Nai Wok
Ao Nai Wok is the closest beach to Thong Sala town. The beach itself is not so good, but the views here are amazing. The water is not deep so you can walk hundreds of meters into the sea.
Ban Tai Beach
Ban Tai Beach is located on the South side of Koh Phangan. The water here is very shallow. The beach is close to Thong Sala town and hosts the Black Moon Party.
Ban Khai
Ban Khai is situated on the rocky coast of Koh Phangan. The beach is not spectacular, but the views are great.
Hat Rin
Hat Rin is famous for the Full moon party. It is situated on a peninsula on the Southern tip of Koh Phangan. There are two beaches, Hat Rin Nai where you can see the sun go down and Hat Rin Nok where the sun comes up. The party is held on Hat Rin Nok.

Hat Yuan
Hat Yuan is a secluded beach just North of Hat Rin. Best way to get here is by boat as there are no good roads to this beach.
Than Sadet and Thong Reng
Than Sadet and Thong Reng are two secluded beaches separated by a little river. These beaches are hard to reach and for that don’t attract that many people. The road to the beaches pass a series of important waterfalls.
Thong Nai Pan
There are two beaches at Thong Nai Pan, namely Yai which means big and Noi which means little. The beaches are on the north-western part of the island and hard to get to and for that popular for people who seek a quite stay in Koh Phangan.

Bottle beach or Hat Khuat
Hat Khuat or bottle beach can only be reached by taxi-boat from Ao Chalok. It is quite a trip to get there, but the reward is there two. There are not many places to stay on bottle beach, so it can fill up pretty quickly.
