Bangkok has some great shows that should not be missed. The Siam Niramit show is performed on one of the biggest stages in the world and tells the story of Thailand’s past and in January 2013 Cookin Nanta opened their popular show from Korea at th RCA Plaza.

If you are looking for a lighter form of entertainment you can have a look at the Playhouse Theater in the Siam Area and the Calypso Cabaret at Asiatique the Riverfront.

The National Theatre mainly shows Thai classical drama’s, so if your Thai is not fluent it is difficult to understand. The Cotton Jazz Bar in Chinatown is a great venue for live Jazz music.

Movies in Thailand are shown in the original version with Thai subtitles. If you are interested in watching a Thai movie this is also possible as most movies are shown in Thai with English subtitles. Most shopping malls have a cinema. At Siam Paragon there is also an IMAX theatre. Two of the oldest cinema's in Bangkok are Apex Lido and Apex Scala. Tickets are 100 baht per session.

Wednesday is movie day in Bangkok. This means that you get 50% discount on movie tickets at the cinema. Movies that just premiered that week can be a little bit more expensive.
