Singapore is an island state on the Southern tip of the Malay peninsula. There are a total of 63 islands with Singapore island at the centre. It is a multicultural society with Malay, Chinese, Indian and western influences. It is a modern metropolis filled with skyscrapers with a population of about 5 million people.

Founded as a British trading colony in 1819, since independence it has become one of the world's most prosperous countries and sports the world's busiest port. Combining the skyscrapers and subways of a modern, affluent city with a tropical climate, with tasty food, good shopping and a vibrant nightlife scene, this Garden City makes a great stopover or springboard into the region.

Sentosa is an island South of Singapore Island. It is a recreational playground filled with attractions such as theme parks, museums and beach bars. The Sentosa express is a monorail that connects the mainland with Sentosa Island.




There are a few interesting luxury hotels in Singapore, such as the Raffles and the Marina Bay Sands that are worth visiting, even if you don’t stay there.
