Yangon Independence Monument

Location: Maha Bandoola Park

The Independence Monument is located in the center of Maha Bandoola Park in Downtown Yangon. It commemorates the independence of Burma from the British in 1948.

The Independence Monument is an obelisk with a height of 46 meters, which is surrounded by five smaller pillars of 9 meters.

Around the Independance you will find many of Yangon's sights, such as the Sule Paya and the High Court Building.
