Luang Prabang Arrival

 

There are three ways to travel to Luang Prabang. There is an airport north of the city, you can travel by bus from Vientiane and Vang Vieng and there is a slow boat from Thailand to Luang Prabang.

 

By Plane

 

Luang Prabang has an airport just North of the city. There are international connections with all neighbouring countries.

To get to town you can take a taxi which will cost 6 US$. The price is per person so it does not matter if you are with more people.

 

By Bus

 

Luang Prabang has 3 bus stations which are all a little bit out of town. Buses from Vientiane and Vang Vieng arrive at the Southern bus station.

 

The Northern bus station connects with Udomxai, Luang Nam Tha and Nong Khiaw.

 

By Boat

 

The slow boat connects Luang Prabang with Huay Xai on the Thai border.
