Luang Prabang
Luang Prabang is a city located about 360 kilometers North of Vientiane in the Northern part of Laos. The city is nestled in a valley and surrounded by high mountains and situated along the Mekong river.

It was once the capital of Laos from the thirteenth till the sixteenth century, for that you can find many old temples at this city. Luang Prabang has a laidback atmosphere and a unique combination of culture and nature.

The city was inscribed in the World Heritage list by UNESCO in 1995. The city has a fine mixture of traditional Lao and French colonial architecture. The temples in Luang Prabang are considered among the most beautiful in South East Asia. At the centre of the city you can climb Mount Phu Si to get a great view of the area.
The Old Quarter
The Old Quarter is the area on the peninsula that is surrounded by the Mekong river and the Nam Khan. Here you will find most temples and tourist attractions.
South of Luang Prabang you will find the Kuang Si waterfall which should not be missed.
