The Gili Islands don not have an airport, but you can fly top Lombok the new Lombok International Airport and arrange transport to the Gillis from there. There are fast boats available from Bali and Lombok. There are public and chartered boats available from Bangsal Harbor on Lombok.

Arriving on the Gilli Islands by fast boat

There are several daily speed boats diretctly from Bali to the Gili Islands. On the way back to Bali the boats stop on Lombok in Teluk Nare. Boat companies that operate this service are: Blue Water Express, Gili Cat Island Express, Island Getaway, Mahi Mahi and the black Pearl.

All of them are reliable. Try to book a return ticket instead of oneway as this is in general cheaper and also book your ticket well in advance during high season in July and August.

Arriving on the Gilli Islands bij Public Boat

There are public boats between Bangsal on Lombok and Gili Trawangan. In general the boats depart when they are full. In case you don't like to wait for too long check out how many seats are still empty. Buy those ticktes as well and the boat will depart.

Arriving on the Gili Islands by chartered boat

A good alternative to the regular boats is to charter a boat that brings you directly to Gili Trawangan, either from Bali or Lombok.
