Papua is the most Eastern part of Indonesia and it is the Western halve of the New Guinea Island. The whole Island is the second largest Island on earth. Papua or West-Papua is one of the last places in the world where till recently people where still living in the Stone Age.

 

In the central part of Papua you can find the Baliem Valley, home of the Dani, Lani, Yali and other tribes. From Wamena, the main city in the region you can take tours into the valley.
