The Elephant Livelihood Initiative Environment E.L.I.E. is a local non-governmental organization founded to help the domestic elephant population in Mondulkiri province, Cambodia. Together with the Phnong people, this centre helps to improve the living conditions of the elephants owned by the Phnong an indigenous minority group living outside the town of Sen Monorom in Mondulkiri

The eco-tourism project Elephants Valley is an approach to treat sick and mistreated elephants with a mix of veterinarian care, in a safe location away from the Phnong village.

 

It is possible to visit the project for a day or longer. The costs of approximately US50 include food, transport and accommodation if necessary. There are several private bungalows, backpacker bungalows as well as group bungalows up to 16 persons available.
