You can reach Koh Kong either directly from Thailand via the Cham Yeam / Had Lek border brossing or by road from Sihanoukville, Kampot and Phnom Penh in Cambodia.

By Bus

Several private bus companies offer daily direct bus transfers from Koh Kong to Sihanoukville or to Phnom Penh in air-conditioned busses. The busses arrive and depart from the bus station in Koh Kong, which is located close to the corner of street 4 and street 3, near the Red Cross. Bus tickets can be bought at the offices of the bus companies, which are located in the town centre along Street 3. Otherwise just ask your hotel or guesthouse for ticket arrangements.

By Taxi

In Koh Kong taxis wait at the taxi stand, which is located next to the bus station. Shared taxis leave when they are full from the taxi stand and cost US$5 or more per person. Keep in mind that in Cambodia it is normal that 2 person share the front seat next to the driver and 4 person share the back seats. In case you prefer more space you have to buy 2 tickets. It is much more convenient but also more expensive to charter a taxi just for yourself.

Private taxis can be arranged through your guesthouse and hotel or also at the taxi stand. The cost for a private taxi i.e. from Koh Kong to Sihanoukville costs around US$ 60.

There are also taxis waiting at the Thai / Cambodian border crossing Cham Yeam / Had Lek, just after you walk out of immigration.

In case you arrive at the Thai / Cambodian border Cham Yeam / Had Lek Remok drivers will offer a transfer into Koh Kong town as soon as you come out from the immigration. A trip from the border into the centre of Koh Kong costs around US$4-5.

In case you arrive at the Thai / Cambodian border Cham Yeam / Had Lek moto taxi drivers will offer a transfer into Koh Kong town as soon as you come out from the immigration. A moto taxi transfer from the border into the centre of Koh Kong costs around US$3.

By Ferry

The ferry port of Koh Kong is located at the riverside near street 6. Ferry services from Koh Kong to Sihanoukville have been suspended since the completion of the road.
