Koh Kong City, located on the Koh Poi River just about 10km from the Thai border, is the capital of the province. The small town, previous a quick border stop on the way from Thailand to Sihanoukville, is becoming a destination itself and is a good base for excursions to the nearby mangrove forests, to the impressive waterfalls, for jungle treks and boat trips.
