Cambodia’s second largest city Battambang is located at the Sangker River just southwest of the great Tonle Sap Lake. Battambang is a lovely, rural, still a bit sleepy town and home to some of the best preserved colonial architecture.

Surrounded by a picturesque countryside with rice paddy fields, beautiful Khmer houses and extremely friendly and welcoming villagers it offers visitors a glance of traditional Khmer life. With its fertile soils the region is often referred as the rice bowl Cambodia’s, where even a vineyard can be found.
