Koh Kut

Koh Kut or Koh Kood Is an island south of Koh Chang. It is the most Eastern and fourth largest island in Thailand. The island is located 80 Km. from Trat. The topography is generally still in its natural condition, with mountains and ridges forming the headwater of many streams from which originate various waterfalls. The most renowned waterfall with water all year around running in a stream from upper tier and cascading down in a large fall into the lower tier ideal for swimming.

There are plenty of white sandy beaches with crystal clear water and serene atmosphere amid a shady coconut grove, The island as well as the nearby Koh Raet and Koh Maki are also home to an intact mangrove forest, beautiful coral reefs and schools of colorful fish.

The native people of Koh Kut are mostly Thai and Khmer immigrants from Koh Kong since the time of French occupation of Patchantkhirikhet in 1904. Ban Khlong Mat is the oldest village on the island whose residents continue to earn their living from agriculture such as rubber plantation, coconut grove and some fruits orchards, as well as costal fishery.
